Holstein UK's Premier Pedigree Herd Open Day 2014 - Sat 28 June
4th February 2014
Following their prestigious Holstein UK Premier Pedigree Herd 2013 win, Bill Nadin and partner Yasmin Bradbury, owners of Sterndale and Peak Holsteins, have announced the date of their highly-anticipated open day.
Held in the heart of the Peak District National Park at Fernydale Farm, this one day event will take place on Saturday 28 June 2014. Commencing from 10:30am onwards, highlights include a full herd inspection and a small elite sale of their top stock.
Averaging 10,410kgs, 4.32%F & 3.13%P, the herd is founded on top cow families such as Ashlyn, Ghost, Rae, Altitude and Rhapsody and leaders in their field, in 2003, Bill sold Field of Dreams Formation Erle for 76,000gns – a record for a cow in-milk sold at auction.
Bill and Yasmin are also no strangers to the red rosettes won in the show-ring. Over the years, they have travelled back to the hills of Derbyshire with numerous Championship ribbons and another noteworthy achievement was collecting five All Britain Awards in 2012.
Alongside their hard work on the farm, Bill is also involved with the UK AI company, KingStreet Sires, with his daughter, Sue and son-in-law, Mark Nutsford. Yasmin also keeps busy by running their exclusive Fernydale Farm Bed & Breakfast.
Holstein UK’s Head of Business Development Lucy Andrews-Noden says: “Showcasing the Holstein breed at its best, Sterndale and Peak’s open day promises to impress. Both Bill and Yasmin are very well respected in the industry and this event will be a great shop window for their hard work and dedication.”
The quality that will be on show at the UK’s top herd will be outstanding. Amongst the great attractions of the day will be the likes of Peak Goldwyn Rhapsody EX95(2E), Sterndale Goldwyn Rae VG89 and Sterndale Kite Rae EX92(2E). A day not to be missed.
